Coachella Valley Pool Players
Association Newsletter Volume 1, Week 5
October 30, 2007
Back in the Saddle….. By Dennis Biss CVPPA President, 2007-08 Well, I think I’m finally back. I
was on vacation for the past two weeks. So this should get back to normal. Sorry about
the packets for some teams did not make it last week, Kevin worked his butt off to try and make everything happen; Thanks
Kevin for all your hard work! It
has been brought to my attention that at the Point After there is a disparity with respect to the tables. Although
the HOME Team should always have the home advantage (selection of tables to play on), at the Point After, we have 2 HOME teams
vying for the first two tables. A simple coin flip should solve the conflict, with the winner picking the
two tables they wish to play on. A side note to this is; I spoke to Bob Wiener, owner of the Pont After,
about getting a light installed above the back table. He said he would secure one ASAP. All BCA fees are now collected for the starting members.
We need to advise new players wanting to join teams that they need to pay their BCA fees within the first 3 weeks of
playing their first night. As always, collecting the CVPPA League fees of $10 and the weekly Dues of $10
are required the FIRST night of play, no exceptions. If the Player does not pay their CVPPA League fees,
the scores will not count. Sorry
to all about the late posting of Stats from last week. Kevin and I are still working out some bugs in our
scorekeeping system. Lastly, I would like to see all of you at the 2nd Annual Desert 9-Ball Classic Tournament
being held this upcoming weekend (Nov 3 & 4) at Neil’s Lounge. It’s a $50 buy-in with $1000
ADDED prize money, Double elimination, Race to 9 Winners, Race to 6 Losers Brackets, Winner Breaks. We
have players coming from all over So. Cal to play in this event. If you don’t want to play come root
on your favorite player. It should prove to be a GREAT weekend of pool playing! Home Team Captains, please remember to drop your completed
score sheets and envelops off at either OUTPOST or ROBBIE T’s at nights end. Good Shooting Everyone! ..db..

The above listing is created
by the following method: # Wins, then Ball Count. See website or back pages of newsletter for additional stats.
By Dennis Biss CVPPA President Set the object ball 1/2 inch off
of the rail and the cue ball 1/2 off the rail. Try for a perfect kill shot. Neither ball should touch the rail after contact.
Next try to get the cue ball to follow the object ball into the corner pocket. Again neither ball should touch a rail. Finally,
draw the cue back to the corner pocket.—GoodLuck!
